It seems almost too good to be true. A job where you get to travel the world and have people listen to what you think of the whole experience.
But that's exactly what's being offered by Finland's flagship airline Finnair.
This month the airline is searching for four "Quality Hunters'' to scour the globe and report back on all that's good - and not so good.
According to a press release issued by the airline, the "Quality Hunters'' will travel to cities in Europe, Asia and the US throughout October and November at the same time "assessing flights, airports and destinations.''
They will be required to supply "impartial views and recommendations to the company on a regular basis throughout the two-month period.''
And, so the public at large can keep up with developments; a "Rethink Quality'' website (www.finnair.com/rethinkquality) has been launched so that these Quality Hunters can share all their adventures with the world.
"The recruitment of the Quality Hunters is one means for Finnair to focus more closely on issues that are important to today's travellers,'' Antti Nieminen, Global Marketing Communications Manager at Finnair Plc, said via a press release. "We believe that the Quality Hunters' blogs will promote interesting and constructive discussions about travel.''
More information is available via the website and applications for the post will be accepted until September 26.
Once the Hunters are out on the trail, the public will be encouraged to interact via their blogs and then at the end of the exercise people can vote for which one of the four has been the Top Quality Hunter. Readers of the blogs themselves stand to win intercontinental flights for two between Europe and Asia for participating.
The Rethink Quality website also features travel-related articles from the like of Alice Rawsthorn, design critic at the International Herald Tribune and British writer and commentator Alain de Botton.
The move is the latest in a string of "ultimate job'' competitions that have included Australia's "Ultimate Job In the World'' competition (http://www.islandreefjob.com), which saw an Englishman hired to look after (and help promote) some of the state of Queensland's famous island destinations, and a competition based out of Ireland which tasked a couple with a job of testing out honeymoon destinations for six months (www.runawaybrideandgroom.com).
