More than 2,000 cutting-edge technologies and 100 influential keynote conference speakers will be on hand to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Australia’s leading business event, CeBIT Australia.

The Australian edition of the world's largest digital IT and telecommunications event, CeBIT takes place annually in Sydney, Australia. CeBIT Australia is hailed as the country's largest ICT exhibition (but is only around a 10th of the size of its parent event, CeBIT in Hannover). CeBIT Australia is a focal point of an additional series of events (including AusInnovate NBN, eHealth, eGovernment, Cloud Computing and WebForward) that will run concurrently to the exhibition. Close to 600 exhibitors and 30,000 delegates are expected to attend CeBIT Australia in 2011.

Good Food and Wine Show Australia

This consumer-oriented food and wine show takes place across Australia from June to November, with the first event rolling out in Melbourne. Foodies are invited to watch celebrity chef demonstrations by famous Aussies like Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris. Other events include wine tastings, beer gardens, cupcake classes and cheese discovery seminars. Tickets are AU$29.50. Additional dates around the country include Sydney (July 1-3), Perth (July 15-17), Adelaide (October 7-9), and Brisbane (November 4-6).

58th Sydney Film Festival

On the heels of Cannes, Australia’s second biggest film festival marks its 58th year with more than 160 films from 42 countries. The Sydney Film Festival (SFF for short) showcases a hand-picked selection of short films, Australian films, documentaries and archive titles - many of which are world premieres. While the Melbourne International Film Festival is regarded as the most significant film event in Australia, the Sydney Film Festival is one of the longest-running film festivals in the world. In 2011 SFF will again host the Travelling Film Festival, taking mini-film festivals to 15 venues across regional NSW, the Northern Territory and rural Queensland.

35th Hair Expo Australia

11th Melbourne International Animation Festival

The 11th edition of the Melbourne International Animation Festival (MIAF11) is an eight-day festival showcasing some of the greatest animations created by artists around the world. MIAF is one of the largest animation festivals in the world. More than 400 films from over 30 countries will grace screens at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image during the festival. Entries in the MIAF are automatically considered for the UTS Sydney International Animation Festival, the London International Animation Festival, and Australia’s smaller, regional touring festival, the Australian International Animation Festival.

18th Lismore Lantern Parade

The Lismore Lantern Parade is a multicultural festival of light and art held in regional NSW. Each year thousands of people line the streets of Lismore to watch the colorful parade of artistically decorated lanterns light up the city. In 2011 selected buildings in the city center will be illuminated with animations and light projections in a large scale public art project called "Light Gardens." Businesses around the town will also decorate their shops with "Enchanted Windows" in the days leading up to the parade.
