During the week of November 1 all eyes will be on Melbourne's Flemington Racecourse for Australia's richest and most famous horse race, the Melbourne Cup.
The Melbourne Cup is Australia's richest and most famous horse race. The "race that stops a nation" is the headlining event during the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival. The day is a public holiday for people living in Melbourne, while others around the nation take a break from their schedule to watch or listen to the race. In 2010 the Melbourne Cup will celebrate its 150th anniversary.
A Day On The Green 10th anniversary concert

Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes will headline the 10th anniversary edition of A Day On The Green - an iconic outdoor concert series held at wineries across Australia and New Zealand. The concert will also feature Australian rockers Vanessa Amorosi, Tex Perkins, Mark Seymour, Diesel, Richard Clapton, Dan Sultan, Mahalia Barnes, Michael Spiby and Swanee.
