Average hotel prices climbing upward across Europe in October

European hotel prices are five percent more expensive this month than in October 2008, according to data released October 6 by the online travel agency Trivago.
The average standard double hotel room costs €118 across Europe this month, up three percent from September 2009.
Many island destinations such as the Canary Islands, Balearic islands and Greece offer their lowest rates of the year in autumn.
The cities are ranked based on their search popularity.

The survey is generated from nearly 40,000 daily price inquiries drawn from 53 hotel booking sites, which feature over 400,000 hotels worldwide.
