Canada, Greece, Gran Canaria, Turkey: Great Getaways

Where to go and what to see

Plan for Canada

Flights to Canada next summer have gone on sale with Air Transat. Book before 30 September for summer 2015 flights from the UK to Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa and Halifax to secure returns from £378 per person (to Toronto). Passengers can also upgrade to Club Class for £291 each way (airtransat.co.uk).

Get to Greece

Thomson still has availability on last-minute holidays to Greece. For example, you could fly from Gatwick to Kos on 6 August and spend a week at the self-catering Harriets Apartments in Kardamena for £273 per person; or from Gatwick to Corfu on 11 August for a week's self-catering at Odysseus in Kavos for £285pp (thomson.co.uk).

Canary call

Prestige Holidays is offering a discount on holidays at Hotel Lopesan Villa del Conde in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, arriving before 29 August. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and has six pools, tennis courts, and a spa. A week, departing Gatwick on 20 August, costs £965 per person, including flights, transfers and accommodation with breakfast (prestigeholidays.co.uk).

Take the family to Turkey

Fly from Manchester to Dalaman on 11 August and a week's self-catering holiday costs £1,848 for a family of four. The deal is being offered by Olympic Holidays and includes flights and accommodation at the three-star Selen Apartments in Icmeler, with a restaurant, shared pool, and playground – all a short walk from the beach, and a short drive from Marmaris (olympicholidays.com).
