Click, pack and go: our pick of this week’s last-minute travel deals

It's turned chilly outside, with the Caribbean looking appealing from our rain-lashed office. Luxury operator Hayes & Jarvis (
hayesandjarvis.com) is offering a seven-night all inclusive stay at Almond Smugglers Cove on St Lucia from £699 per person, including flights from Gatwick on 22 November and transfers.

For sun without the jetlag, try Gambia: The Gambia Experience ( gambia.co.uk) is offering seven nights at the Kombo Beach Hotel in the Kotu region from £299 per person, including B&B, return flights from Gatwick and transfers. The offer is valid for 4 or 11 December departures only.

Jetsave ( jetsave.com) can provide sunshine on a budget in Florida. Seven nights' B&B at the two-star Continental Plaza in Kissimmee Florida is available for £449 per person based on two sharing, including return Virgin Atlantic flights from Gatwick and free Alamo car hire.

For a different – and atmospheric – perspective on the winter season, try a 10-night Baltic cruise onboard the P&O ‘Arcadia’, which is being offered by sailfromuk.com from £699 per person. Departs Southampton 8 December and calls at Hamburg, Oslo, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Zeebrugge. For a bit more glamour for a bit less cash, try the seven-night Western Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona on board the ‘Celebrity Century’ offered by cruise 118.com. It departs on 21 November, and stops include Cannes, Portofino, Livorno, Civitavecchia and Naples and the price is from £499 per person, including return flights to Barcelona from Heathrow.

If you’re stuck for something to do over Christmas and can bear the bracing climate of Cornwall in mid-winter, St Mellion International Resort ( stmellionfestivebreaks.co.uk), which re-opened in June following refurbishment, is offering a luxury three-night Christmas break for £199 per person from 24-27 December, including dinner on Christmas Eve, a Christmas Day champagne breakfast and five-course festive lunch, Boxing Day breakfast and three-course Boxing Day lunch.

And what about once Christmas is out of the way? Skiing perhaps? Snowbreaks.com is offering seven nights at the Hotel Panorama in Kaprun, Austria, for £999 per person. Price includes half board, flights and transfers. Departs 26 December. Ski hire not included.
