German men sexiest, say female UK travellers

It seems that British women have not been put off by Germans pinching all the best places round the pool.

For female UK tourists have voted German men the sexiest they have met on their trips, a survey from lastminute.com found.

For British men, the women of Croatia were rated the most attractive in the poll of 5,000 Europeans.

The research also showed that Britons have a better knowledge of the world than their European counterparts.

Competing with travellers from France, Germany, Italy and Spain, UK residents scored 65 per cent in a test of world cities, flags, landmarks and cultural icons.

The UK's nearest rival was Germany, where residents notched up 52 per cent. Spanish travellers got 46 per cent, the French 41 per cent and Italians were bottom of the list with just 32 per cent.

Britons rated Tallinn in Estonia as the best stag weekend destination.

The poll also showed that 18 per cent of Britons have been on holiday to more than 10 different countries in the last 10 years, with 34 per cent reckoning they were more adventurous with their holiday destinations than they were 10 years ago.

Also, 23 per cent said they were bored of the standard package holiday and looked for more adventure in their holidays now, while 45 per cent felt that their travels abroad had made them more open to other cultural experiences when back home.

"Over the last 10 years, British holidaymakers have rediscovered the national tradition of world exploration thanks to the ease and speed of internet booking and cheaper flights. This means that, more than ever, the British public are embracing different cultures from across the globe."
