For the second consecutive year Singapore's Changi was voted the top airport and London's Heathrow the worst in a survey released by Priority Pass, the world's largest independent airport lounge access program, on October 23.
"Sadly, Heathrow remains firmly entrenched as the airport the world loves to hate," concluded Priority Pass.
The online poll was drawn from 14,500 frequent flyers covering 160 countries. Respondents had taken an average of 17 flights in the last year, amounting to nearly a quarter of a million flights.
Changi and Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok airports took the top two spots for the second year running. Amsterdam's Schiphol is the favorite European airport, taking third place overall.
Paris may be "The City of Love" but its Charles de Gaulle was voted the second-most loathed airport in the world. Priority Pass warned, "...anyone wanting a romantic break in Paris should avoid the Heathrow - Charles de Gaulle route if they don't want to kill the mood."
The recent $1 billion (€665 million) facelift for Los Angeles International Airport has yet to pay much dividends for its reputation as it finished third from the bottom overall, with the international airports in Frankfurt and Miami coming in just ahead.
The US was one of the few countries that did rate not Heathrow as one of the very worst, instead pointing the finger at Chicago's O'Hare airport, followed by Los Angeles, Atlanta and New York City's JFK airport.
