Great getaways: Zone out in the Indian Ocean, stay close in the Canaries, double up with a twin-centre in Thailand and sale away with January cruises
Zone out
Plan for a week of Indian-Ocean luxury once the Christmas chaos is over. Departing on 19 January, Virgin Holidays has a seven-night stay in the Maldives for £1,429pp, with Qatar flights from Heathrow via Doha, transfers, and B&B accommodation at the five-star Sheraton Full Moon Resort & Spa on Furanafushi Island (virginholidays.co.uk).
Stay close
Or why not stay closer to home with a week of well-earned warmth in the Canaries? The Lanzarote deal with Classic Collection includes accommodation at the five-star Vik Hotel San Antonio, on Playa de los Pocillos, with full board and Norwegian flights from Gatwick on 13 January for £599pp (classic-collection.co.uk).
Double up
For travel between 15 January and 20 March, Premier Holidays has a tempting twin-centre break to Thailand. The package includes Thai Airways flights from Heathrow to Bangkok for three nights' room-only accommodation at the Royal Orchid Sheraton, followed by connecting flights to Phuket for a week's B&B on the beach at the Angsana Laguna, for £1,425pp (premierholidays.co.uk).
Sale away
Among the many January sales that are set to launch over the next few weeks is Italian-specialist Citalia's, which runs until 31 January. Examples of deals include a week in Sardinia in the Il Villaggio hotel at the upmarket Forte Village Resort, with accommodation for two adults and two children in a family bungalow, bike hire, transfers and easyJet flights from Stansted on 12 May for £2,659 in total (citalia.com).
