Hungary to rename Budapest airport after Liszt
Saturday 19 March 2011
Hungary will rename its main airport at Budapest after legendary composer and piano virtuoso Franz Liszt, in honour of the 200th anniversary this year of his birth, parliament announced Thursday.
Parliamentarians had voted it should be called the "Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport" with immediate effect as part of the celebrations to mark the 1811 birth of the Hungarian composer, who died in 1886.
He is better known using the German spelling of his name, Franz Liszt.
