Italian luxury brand Corinthia has released further details on its forthcoming flagship property, which will open early next year.
The Corinthia London will be the ninth hotel for the brand and its highest-profile property so far, with the firm promising a "true grand hotel for the 21st century."
Although Corinthia currently operates properties in Hungary, Prague, St Petersburg and Lisbon, the London property will be the brand's first in a major global city and one of the major London openings of 2011.
The 294-room property is housed in a Victorian building close to Whitehall and Trafalgar Square, both major tourist attractions.
Corinthia says it will boast the largest suite in London, measuring 470 meters square, and individual rooms will average 45 meters square, also among the largest in the city.
Other attractions include a 2,140 meter square four-storey spa and a seafood restaurant from celebrated Italian chef Massimo Riccioli.
The Corinthia is one of several major London properties scheduled to open ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games in the city.
Later this year, Starwood brand W Hotels is set to open a major development in Leicester Square, followed by another hotel from its boutique brand Aloft in the east of the city in 2012.
In the same year, Shangri-La will open its own luxury property in the city, as will Alrov Hotels when it unveils an extensive refurbishment of the Café Royal on London's Regent Street.Reuse content
