Portugal in July: One holiday, three ways

We targeted three companies to ask for their best offer on a trip to Portugal, departing in July. Prices are per person, based on two travelling together, apart from the family trip which is based on two adults and two children travelling together.

City: £213, easyJet Holidays

Includes easyJet flights from Gatwick to Lisbon on 16 July, plus room-only accommodation at the four-star Real Parque hotel. This hotel is situated in the heart of the Portuguese capital, close to the Marques de Pombal and Saldanha districts, and has three Metro stations nearby (020 3499 5232; easyjet.com/holidays).

Family: £712, Sunvil Discovery

Includes easyJet flights from Gatwick to Faro on 10 July; a week's car rental; and a week's self-catering stay in a two-bedroom house at Aldeia da Pedralva at the far south-west of the Algarve. The holiday village has a bar and restaurant attached (020 8758 4722; sunvil.co.uk/portugal).

Wine: £855, Cox & Kings
