The six new structures, set high in the canopy, open on 1 August. They sleep four to six, and promise to offer the same five-star standard of luxury as the renowned hotel. Down on the ground, there's a children's club, sporting activities including tennis lessons, more than 50 hectares of grounds and a beach to explore, as well as a top spa and restaurant. Rates start at £600 per night.

Two new villas overlooking the Bay of Kalkan in Turkey, are available to rent through Exclusive Escapes (020-8605 2500; exclusiveescapes.co.uk). Korsan Guney and Korsan Kuzey both have five bedrooms, an infinity pool, shaded games area, private beach platforms and kayaks available. From £12,900 per property per week, based on 10 sharing, including return flights to Dalaman from the private terminal at Stansted and 4x4 rental.

You could also hire your own private Scottish island. The Isle of Eriska Hotel Spa & Island is available for exclusive use for the first time. The five-star hotel is set on its own beach and has a 3 AA Rosette restaurant, golf course, pool, tennis courts and spa. And you'll really impress your friends by suggesting you should all arrive in style on the 120-hectare island in a helicopter or seaplane. You'll certainly need a few well-heeled fellow travellers to fill the 25 bedrooms – the property costs from £10,000 per night (minimum two-night stay), just for bed and breakfast.
