For over 100 years the Venice Biennale has promoted contemporary art through its organization of international events and is one of the most prestigious cultural institutions in the world.

Burning Man   (August 29 - September 5, Nevada, USA)
The Burning Man festival is an experiment in temporary community dedicated to self-expression and participation; each year the art installations follow a theme, term or concept and this year the theme is Rites of Passage.

Cinema 
Tim Burton (May 29 - October 31, Los Angeles, USA)
This major retrospective exhibition at the LACMA explores the filmmaker's creative work, bringing together over 700 drawings, paintings, photographs and cinematic ephemera. Many of these objects come from the artist's own archive, as well as from studio archives and private collections of Burton's collaborators.

15th Tendence    (August 26-30,Frankfurt, Germany) 
One of the most important household furnishings, accessories and gifts shows of the year, Tendence attracts around 57,000 people and helps set the interior design trends for the following season. The show is divided into two broad categories Living  and Giving.

51st IFA (September 2-7, Berlin, Germany)
IFA is one of the world's biggest consumer electronics trade shows attracting 1,423 exhibitors and 235,000 visitors in 2010. The event serves as a launchpad for many new innovative consumer appliances - in 2010 notable IFA announcements included Samsung's first tablet the Galaxy tab and the world's slimmest LED 3D TV in 2010.
