The One show

This Wednesday, One Leicester Street opens on the site of the former St John Hotel, just off Leicester Square in central London. It will offer 15 rooms, interiors by Universal Design Studio, a cocktail bar and a restaurant from the Michelin-starred chef Tom Harris (oneleicesterstreet.com).

Flight of fancy

BA starts flying Heathrow-Ibiza today, adding to existing links from Gatwick and London City – where services will increase this winter (ba.com).

In fair Verona

Verona marks the centenary of its Opera Festival from 14 June to 8 Sept. This summer's performances, including Romeo and Juliet, will take place in the amphitheatre. The tenor, Plácido Domingo, hosts two gala evenings on 15 and 20 August (www.arena.it).
