Today the MV Isle of Arran makes her maiden voyage on a new thrice-weekly ferry link between Campbeltown on the Kintyre peninsula, Brodick on the isle of Arran and Ardrossan in Ayrshire – with rail connections to and from Glasgow. The Arran call is on Saturdays only; on Fridays and Sundays the Caledonian MacBrayne service sails direct between Campbeltown and Ardrossan (calmac.co.uk).
