Bookings have now opened for Awasi, a new hotel due to open in Chilean Patagonia on 15 November. Set in a private reserve amid the peaks of the Torres del Paine, it has 12 luxury cabins and offers excursions. Three-night packages from US$2,100/£1,400pp (awasi.info).

Bell of the ball

Amber's Bell Tent Camping has opened on the grounds of Mannington Hall in North Norfolk, with two luxury bell tents. £150 for a two-night stay (ambersbelltents.co.uk).

Ex- terminal!

Passengers passing through Heathrow will be treated to a series of Dr Who sightings, ahead of the 50th anniversary of the show in November, including displays of props (heathrowairport.com).
