Travel Agenda: Art Institute of Chicago; Jet2's Tel Aviv service; La Réserve's new Ramatuelle hotel


Renowned Italian architect Renzo Piano opens his new wing at the Art Institute of Chicago, which will house 20th- and 21st-century art. It will make the institute the second largest art museum in the US after New York's Metropolitan (artic.edu).

A new low-cost service to Tel Aviv takes off from Manchester on Thursday, thanks to Jet2 (jet2.com). Liverpool Sound City is bringing together 400 acts at a series of gigs and shows from Wednesday until Saturday, including The Zutons and Juliette Lewis (liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk). More music, plus philosophy can be unearthed at a festival running alongside the Hay Literary Festival in the Brecon Beacons. How the Light Gets In features names from A C Grayling to Michael Nyman and runs from Friday until 31 May (howthelightgetsin.org).

La Réserve, which already has a chic hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva and ultra-luxurious apartments in Paris, is opening a new hotel in Ramatuelle on the French Riviera on 29 May (lareserve.ch). Meanwhile, a luxury hotel is scheduled to open on the island of Korcula in Croatia. Lesic Dimitri is set in an 18th-century palace (lesic-dimitri.com).
