Munster weekend

CityJet puts Munster on the map from 29 October, when it becomes the airline's first German destination from London City (cityjet.com).

Tickety boo

Complaints about Budapest's transport inspectors doling out 6000Ft (£18) fines for unvailidated tickets feature in the new Rough Guide to Budapest (£12.99 (roughguides.com).

Calais comfort

P&O Ferries has two-for-one upgrades to the Club Lounge on Dover-Calais ferries until 5 September. For £6 per person each way, you get a glass of champagne, free newspapers and a Personal Shopper service (poferries.com).

Canal plus

Forget Thailand and head to Tower Hamlets: a floating market has opened on the Regent's Canal close to the Olympic Park and will offer second-hand books, vintage clothes and more until 20 August (canalrivertrust.org.uk).

Historic Valencia

The Borgias are back on TV next week, so why not explore their world on group tours to Valencia province including Gandia, Xativa and Bocairent? Depart Sep, Oct and Nov, €1,350pp with most meals but not flights (thespanishthymetraveller.com).

35

Walks in the Tuscan countryside are featured in Walker's Tuscany, a new boxset by Duncan Petersen. The pocket-size maps cover rambles from half a day, to a weekend in hotspots like Montepulciano (£12.99, kylebooks.com).

Aloha again

Honolulu-Auckland is currently served only by Air New Zealand ... until March next year, that is, when Hawaiian Airlines begins non-stop flights, providing the chance of a three-hop trip from the UK via New York and Honolulu (hawaiianair.com).

Turkey shot

Turkey has seen many earthquakes since June and the Foreign Office warns visitors to Fethiye/Oludeniz and Marmaris to tell relatives where they are staying and leave contact details (fco.gov.uk/travel).
