Rock'n'roll back to the '60s on Carnaby Street in London. This weekend the seminal shopping street is hosting a Swinging Carnaby event, complete with live music, exhibitions, dancers, themed events and free 1960s make-overs (carnaby.co.uk).

Renowned primatologist Jane Goodall will be giving a special lecture at London Zoo on 25 June. Hosted by John Simpson, she will be talking about her extensive studies of chimpanzees (janegoodall.org.uk). In Italy, the Spoleto Festival kicks off on 26 June, until 12 July; the programme includes the premiere of Woody Allen's opera directing debut (festivaldispoleto.com).
