Travel challenge: Jordan
Saturday 19 February 2011
Every week we invite competing companies to give us their best deals for a specific holiday. Today: an early April trip to Jordan. Prices are per person, based on two travelling together on 2 April.
£1,690: Classic Jordan
Includes flights from Heathrow, transfers, excursions in Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea and a week with breakfast in four-star hotels. "Petra is one of those places you never forget your first glimpse of," says Megan Shaw at Audley (01993 838 415; audleytravel.com).
£1,499: Luxury Dead Sea and Red Sea
Includes flights from Heathrow, transfers, a tour of Petra and a week with breakfast in five-star Kempinksi hotels at Aqaba and the Dead Sea. "Jordan is a fascinating country with historic sites, stunning landscapes and Petra is a must-see," says Sabina Shaida at Mosaic Holidays (020-8574 4000; mosaicholidays.co.uk).
£1,299: Jordan small group cultural tour
Includes transfers, eight nights' hotel and camp accommodation and all meals. Travel to and from Jordan is not included, but easyJet flights from Gatwick to Amman, starting 27 March, offer a low-cost option. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip. Your Bedouin hosts will give you a fascinating insight into their way of life and you'll experience the wonders of Jordan through their eyes," says Krissy Roe of Responsibletravel.com (01273 600030; responsibletravel.com).
