Travel Challenge: The detox

Each week we invite three competing companies to offer their best deal for a specific holiday. Today: a New Year detox escape in Europe. All holidays depart or start from Monday 9 January and include a week's accommodation. Prices are per person, based on two sharing.

La Joie de Vivre

£1,479: Bagni di Pisa, Tuscany

Includes British Airways flights from Gatwick to Pisa with transfers and B&B at the Bagni di Pisa hotel in Tuscany. Guests receive a three-night spa package during the stay which includes one consultation and six treatments. "Set in idyllic grounds on the outskirts of Pisa, the Bagni di Pisa is a small boutique hotel with just 61 traditional Italian-styled rooms," says Paul Lodge of La Joie de Vivre. "After three days on the detox package clients will be well on their way to a healthier 2012". (01483 272 379; lajoiedevivre.co.uk).

Essential Escapes

£1,470: InterContinental Aphrodite Hills, Cyprus

Includes British Airways flights from Heathrow to Larnaca with transfers and full-board at the InterContinental Aphrodite Hills. Guests receive 12 personal training sessions, three health and nutritional consultations, and five treatments during their stay. "With delicious balanced menus as part of your full-board package, you won't be tempted away from your detox goals," says Ann Marie Orpwood of Essential Escapes. "The personal training, scrubs and massages are all designed to maximise the rejuvenating effect of your stay". (020-7284 3344; essentialescapes.com).

Neal's Yard Holidays

£995: Seren Retreat, South Wales

Includes full-board accommodation at the Seren Retreat on the Gower Peninsula, with daily yoga and six treatments during the stay. "The Seren Retreat is a hidden gem located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, not far from a stunning stretch of Welsh coastline," says Stephanie Wienrich of Neal's Yard Holidays. "After a day of gentle yoga, a personalised de-stressing treatment and a stroll through the retreat's private woodland, a long hot soak in the outdoor Jacuzzi while looking up at the stars just has to be experienced."
