UK airports reopen
All UK airports opened for business yesterday after the volcanic ash cloud drifted away from British airspace. However, passengers were warned that the ash cloud could cause disruption for "the foreseeable future".
Forecasters said the volcano was erupting to even greater heights and that it would only take a change in wind direction to bring air traffic to a halt again. But a Met Office spokesman said winds forecast over the next few days would keep the plume out to the west, away from British air space.
