For a limited time, Québec plays host to North America's only hotel made of ice. And a star-studded event took place in Hollywood, as talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and singer Robin Thicke opened the new W Hotel.

Hôtel de Glace, Québec, Canada
Canada's Ice Hotel only opens for four months a year, so guests need to be quick. Open until April 4, it's the only ice hotel in North America and is created from 15,000 tons of snow and 500 tons of ice. The 36-room ice complex features a 7.6 meter high igloo at the center, which will host exhibitions commemorating the tenth season of the hotel.

Andaz Wall Street, New York, USA
Ultra-stylish chain Andaz opened their newest property in Manhattan last week, the only hotel on Wall Street. Designed by David Rockwell and Rockwell Group, the hotel features 253 rooms with black marble bathrooms and seven foot windows. Local links area priority at the Andaz - the hotel's restaurant, Wall and Water, serves food made with ingredients sourced from the Hudson Valley, whilst the hotel's spa uses organic products made locally in New York and Connecticut.

EAST, Hong Kong
EAST will add 345 rooms to Hong Kong's already burgeoning hotel market. The property is built using natural materials such as limestone, wood and bamboo but includes high-tech touches such as 37-inch LCD televisions in all rooms and free wifi throughout the hotel. There is also a 24-hour gym and outdoor pool and a restaurant on the 32nd floor. Hotel bosses say that the property creates a "balance of the body and soul, the yin and yang."
