It's been a packed week in the hotel world, with new properties springing up all over the world ahead of the winter break.

Shangri-La Paris
Paris, France

Shangri-La made its much-anticipated debut in the French capital this week with a new property in the former residence of Prince Roland Bonaparte. With 81 rooms and three restaurants (two opening in 2011), the hotel is a high-profile addition to the French capital's luxury hotel scene.

Sofitel Vienna Stephansdom
Vienna, Austria

This 18-story tower offers 182 rooms with panoramic views across the Austrian capital and a restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Antoine Westermann.

Sofitel So Mauritius

Set across 14 hectares of land, the Sofitel So Mauritius has ben designed by Japanese designer Kenzo Takada and boasts 90 suites and villas with private gardens, patios and ponds.

Four Season Resort Nevis
Nevis, West Indies, Caribbean

Closed for two years due to hurricane damage, the Four Seasons resort Nevis has been totally revamped with a new restaurant, sailing school and spa treatments. All 196 rooms and suites have been refurbished and four new 19 square meter beach houses have been constructed.

The Cosmopolitan, Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV, US

As well as the requisite 100,000 square foot (9,300 square meter) casino, The Cosmopolitan megaresort offers three pools, a shopping centre, seven signature restaurants and 2,995 rooms.

Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach Wyndham Grand Resort
Kauai, Hawaii

This property is part of Wyndham's enormous Wyndham Grand Resort, and starts the ball rolling with 85 villas, lagoon pools, fitness centre and the market place. The second phase of construction is expected to begin in May next year.
