Movie fans from around the world are expected to fly in for the
Twilight Convention at sea next week, with the movie's stars joining hundreds of fans on a four-day trip. On August 13, celebrations begin at Canada's premier air show, which marks its centenary this year.
Alaska Twilight Cruise and Convention

The Alaska Twilight Cruise and Convention will take hundreds of Twilight fans on the "ultimate celebration of the Twilight saga" on the high seas. Passengers will join stars of the films Jodelle Ferland, Alex Merez and Michael Welch on a four-day cruise to Alaska, complete with movie viewings, interviews with the stars, costume balls and competitions.

Abbotsford International Airshow

Canada's National Airshow is expected to attract over 125,000 people over its three-day run, for a dazzling display of aviation both in the sky and on the ground. This year will see a special performance to mark the 100th anniversay of the Canadian Navy.

The first luxury hotel and residential tower to be built in Lower Manhattan, the 57-storey W New York Downtown is also the first new project not part of the WTC complex to begin construction since 9/11.

Tankosh 2010

Aloft Brussels Opens

Starwood's chic Aloft chain makes its first entry to Europe on September 1 with the opening of the Aloft Brussels. It's the first of an expansion drive that will see a further hotel in London by 2012 - the Brussels Aloft will feature 147 rooms, with free wifi, a grab-and-go snack bar and the "xyz" bar/club.

PSP Southampton International Boat Show

Southampton, UK
Over 121,000 visitors came to PSP Southampton last year, making it the largest outdoor event of its kind in the UK. Although the show is a precursor to the winter London International Boat Show, Southampton focuses strongly on "lifestyle" boating for the general public, with 1000 boats on show and models available for sale from £389 (€467).
