Where to see Cirque du Soleil's Michael Jackson tour

Cirque du Soleil has confirmed the first destinations for its long-awaited Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour.

The world-famous performance group will tour eleven Canadian and US cities for the first leg of the tour, which kicks off in October 2011, although future dates and locations will be added.

It will begin in Montreal and tour Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver through June 2012.

Tickets go on sale to the general public November 6 at 12:00pm EDT.

Combining Michael Jackson music with Cirque du Soleil's performance style, The Immortal tells the story of Jackson's "Giving Tree," a fantastical creation portrayed as the source of the controversial star's "love of music and dance, fairy tale and magic."

It is written and directed by Jamie King, the man behind tours from Madonna, Rihanna, the Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Canadian stars Avril Lavigne and Céline Dion.
