Q Do we have any rights over the fact easyJet have changed our Malaga flight to be operated on a Titan aircraft? The airline claims to have one of the youngest fleets. But we're now going to be stuck on an old Boeing, with no guarantee of the seats we booked. They also sent me an email saying "We would like to remind you that your flight will be operated by Titan". They never told us that before, so the reminder comes as a surprise! I'm trying to change my flight to an earlier or later one to avoid it.
A Good luck persuading the airline to change your flight. In common with all other airlines, easyJet reserves the right to substitute its planes with those of other carriers. It has, indeed, been "wet-leasing" other airlines' aircraft and crew since the very beginning. This is an expensive business, but easyJet needed to fill a gap in its schedules this summer and chose to buy in extra capacity from Titan.
The business about "We would like to remind you …" is odd, but recently I've had some strange messages from easyJet about other flights, including one rescheduled by 86 years. I sense the airline isn't paying as much attention as it might to the automated emails that it is sending out.
