Travel challenge: A North American ski holiday
Saturday 31 December 2011
Every week we invite three companies to give us their best deal for a specific holiday. Today: a week-long ski holiday in North America. Prices are per person, based on two people travelling together. Each includes transfers and flights from the UK on 21 January.
£812: Winter Park, Colorado
Includes BA flights from Heathrow to Denver and room-only at the Winter Park Mountain Lodge. "With close to 10 metres of snow in an average season, a day skiing on perfect powder is the norm in Colorado, with three mountains offering diverse terrain for all abilities," says Michael Brabin of Crystal Ski (0871 231 2256; crystalski. co.uk).
£799: Fernie, British Columbia
Includes Air Transat flights from Gatwick to Calgary and B&B at the Stanford Fernie Resort. "Fernie is a fantastic choice for families and couples alike, with brilliant skiing right on your doorstep, queue-free lifts, and friendly instructors," says Louise Newton of Inghams. "After a day on the slopes, the hotel also has an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and fitness centre to relax in." (020-8780 4447; inghams.co.uk).
£619: Lake Louise, Alberta
Includes Air Transat flights from Gatwick to Calgary and room-only at the Lake Louise Inn. "With breathtaking scenery at every turn, the Canadian Rockies offer more than your average ski holiday," says Kathryn Munro of Canadian Affair.
"The hotel has a hot tub and complimentary shuttle bus each day to Lake Louise resort, which is great for families because there are so many winter activities to try." (020-7616 9999; canadianaffair.com).
