Blue Monday. The most depressing day of the year. The Christmas glow has worn off, your New Year's resolutions are well and truly broken, and it’s really, really cold. What better way to beat the blues then than by booking a holiday. To save you time, we’ve rounded up a selection of the best deals out there. Don’t forget to send us a postcard!

Escape to the country with cottages4you, which is offering £100 off its UK cottages if you book on Blue Monday. Offer applies to trips taken between 26 March and 13 April.


If you’re desperate to jet off right away Red Sea Holidays is offering seven nights in Egypt for under £300. Depart from Birmingham on 22 January and spend a week soaking up the sun in the four-star Ghazala Beach Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh. Price is based on two people sharing and includes breakfast.


Fancy some sun? Fly to Miami for three nights for £600 with Virgin Holidays. Offer includes flights from Heathrow on 6 March plus room-only accommodation at the Days Hotel Thunderbird Beach Resort, which is next to the beach for optimum tanning. Car hire included.


A city break is a great way to take your mind off the January Blues, especially if it costs less than £100. easyJet Holidays is offering flights and accommodation in Prague for £99.50. Price includes flights departing from Stansted on 24 Feb and three nights at the Hotel Popelka, which is located in the heart of the historic city.



Enjoy some winter sun at the five-star Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahia Real in Fuerteventura for £675 per person. The Western & Oriental deal includes Norwegian Airlines flights from Gatwick departing 31 January, seven nights in a double room on a B&B basis, plus transfers.


Spend three weeks cruising from Sydney to San Francisco on-board P&O’s Aurora for £2199 per person, departing on 6 March. The price includes a one night stay in a four-star hotel in Sydney, before a 24 night full-board cruise visiting Milford Sound (scenic cruising), Dunedin, Akaroa, Wellington, Apia, Pago Pago, Honolulu, Hilo and San Francisco.


The British Airways sale continues until 27 January. Currently on offer is a three-day holiday in Brooklyn for £499pp. The price includes American Airways flights from Heathrow  to New York JFK on Saturday 7 February and three nights’ room-only accommodation at the Aloft hotel.


Destinology is offering a high-end trip to Mauritius over Easter for £1,375pp for a family of four. The price includes a seven-night stay, on a half-board basis, in an Ocean Deluxe Family Room at the Westin Turtle Bay Resort and Spa. The resort is located in the resort of Balaclava, facing Turtle Bay, a protected marine park on  the north-west coast of the  island. Return Emirates flights from Gatwick via Dubai on 30 March are also included.


Get a gang together and head to Lanzarote where is offering a seven night stay in a four bedroom villa for £80 per person. Price is based on ten people sharing the Villa Papaz in Conil from 31 January. The villa has a private pool and boasts glorious sea views. Flights extra.


Kirker Holidays is offering an once in a lifetime opportunity to visit the Turin Shroud when it goes on display in Turin this year from 19 April to 24 June.
