The Grade I listed building underwent a £9m refurbishment in 2005 and now hosts contemporary art (pictured above) across two galleries.
A 1,000-seater auditorium allows the gallery to hold performances and events on a regular basis, and its studio area provides a facility for education, talks and practical workshops. It also boasts a restaurant and café/bar.
