Wood of Cree
'Spring heralds one of my favourite sounds - the dawn chorus,' admits Joanna. 'The Wood of Cree, the largest ancient woodland in southern Scotland, is one of the best places to hear it. Also, the undergrowth teems with bluebells at this time of year and, when things quieten down in the evening, you might even catch a glimpse of a barn owl.'
