Buttermere, Lake District
'Many regard the walk around Buttermere as one of the best in the Lake District. This lovely lake, shimmering in the summer sunshine, is set in a picturesque tree-clad valley. At its head is Fleetwith Pike towering above Honistor Pass, and to the south are the curved ridges of High Crag and High Stile, with their two great hollows and craggy arms reaching out to embrace the lake,' explains Tom. The lakeside path is flat and easy making it a good walk for families.
