Lagan Valley Towpath, Belfast
'Start at Shaw's Bridge on the southern edge of Belfast, then follow the towpath beside the canal back towards the city centre,' says David. 'After a mile or so, you reach the most attractive part of the walk: Lagan Meadows, a tree-fringed loop in the river to the right of the path and a good place for a picnic on a summer's day. Another option is a pub lunch at Cutters Wharf.'
