St Michael's Way, Cornwall
'Toast the New Year surrounded by spectacular coastal views, on this boisterous circular walk along the ancient pilgrim tracks of the St Michael's Way,' says Tom. Start two miles inland from Ludgvan. The route continues northwards through fields and woods, climbing steeply to give panoramic views as it joins the St Michael's Way. From here, it curls up to the ancient fort of Trencrom, before winding back down to Ludvgan, the sea and the island of St Michael's Mount in the distance.
