Cadair Idris, Gwynedd
'Cadair Idris - or chair of the mythical giant Idris - is one of Wales's finest mountains,' says Jenny. 'A walk up from Minfordd is steep-going from the start but the rewards come fast, starting with the mountain-cradled waters of Llyn Cau, seen at their cobalt best against snow-dusted crags.' Keep heading skywards to top the hills above the lake, curving round to Cadair's summit, then along a view-laden ridge to Mynydd Moel and the long descent back to the start.
