Heartwarming video of vet comforting dog after surgery goes viral

An animal shelter captured the heart-warming moment a terrified dog was comforted by its surgeon in footage that has since been viewed over six million times.

In the video a nervous puppy, Meesha, is seen being swaddled by the vet, who repeats the words ‘I know, I know’ to alleviate the dog’s crying.

Meesha had just woken from an operation and appeared to be struggling to shake off after effects of the anaesthesia.

Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter uploaded the video to their Facebook page, where they wrote that the dog ‘was a little scared because her body felt so weird.’

They also thanked Dennis Moses, the surgical assistant seen in the clip, as well as all their other hard working staff.

“Thank you to Dennis and all the staff who work long, tireless hours in the background of our shelter—saving lives and loving the animals. (Turn on the sound, it will melt your heart!)”

A comment below the footage shows Meesha (now renamed Maddie), settling in with her adopted family.
