USA: Palestinians taught to "stab Jews" at schools - claims Israeli UN envoy

Palestinian children are being taught “how to stab” Jews, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations has claimed.

During a press conference ahead of a special meeting of the UN Security Council in New York, Danny Danon produced a diagram called ‘How to stab a Jew’ suggested it was being given to children in middle, high and elementary schools.

The Middle East Research Institute say the image was taken from social media.

According to Sky News, Mr Danon said: “Instead of educating about peace and tolerance, the Palestinian leadership is brainwashing children with incitement and hate. Palestinian leaders have established an incubator to raise children as terrorists.”

The comments come amid increased fighting in the region over the past fortnight, where at least 40 Palestinians and seven Israeli’s are thought to have died as a result of the fighting.

Mr Danon was appointed Israeli Ambassador to the UN by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in August, he was previously Minister of science, technology and space in the Israeli government.

The special UN meeting was called after a Palestinian appeal for international protection for the al-Aqsa mosque— Islam’s third holiest shrine, which they say is being encroached by Israel. The site is known as the Noble Sanctuary to Muslims and Temple Mount to Jews and also holds religious significance in Judaism.

Israel opposed the Palestinian appeal, with Mr Danon saying “an intervention would violate the decade long status quo".
