There's nothing worse than the 3pm post-lunch slump. But according to Professor Vincent Walsh, professor of human brain research at University College London, we should just sleep through it. “It’s best to give your brain downtime. I have a nap every afternoon" he said.

Speaking at the Cheltenham Science Festival he said we have all become "obsessed" with sleeping only at night, and companies should let their employees work - and sleep - whatever hours they want. “If we want people to be more creative we need people to be able to do less" he said. "Companies should allow naps in the afternoon. They should get rid of the habit of clocking in and clocking out."
