Video: Kelvin MacKenzie's Non-apology

It's been a long time coming. In the wake of new report on the Hillsborough cover-up, the former Sun editor Kelvin MacKenzie today offered his "profuse apologies to the people of Liverpool."

MacKenzie has several times prevaricated, stalled and otherwise refused to apologise for a front-page headline he ran four days after the Hillsborough tragedy in which 96 people died.

Above is footage from an appearance on BBC Daily Politics in December 2011, when MacKenzie was challenged by Labour MP Chris Bryant.

MacKenzie's apology has been rejected by Trevor Hicks, of the Hillsborough Families Support Group, who said it was "too little, too late".
