Will Owen Jones end up in parliament?

Adding to editor of Conservative Home Tim Montgomerie's suggestion that come 2018 our columnist would be leader of the 'Green and Justice Party', now it's been predicted - by Dan Hodges in Total Politics - that a position as Ed Miliband's Parliamentary Private Secretary is more likely.
Of a future role in parliament Jones himself is less certain: "I imagine I'd spend the first week getting IDed in the Parliamentary bars", he says.
But perhaps there's no need for the Chavs author to take up a position in Westminster just yet - GQ ranked him above George Osborne and Ed Miliband in their 2012 list of most influential men.
