LETTER : Fifty years on and still in denial about the bomb
YOUR ARTICLE on Rudolph Peierls includes no mention of all the British prisoners - held by the Japanese - whose lives were saved by the atom bomb.
My late husband was on the Burma/Siam "Railway of Death" where people died every day like flies. Fortunately he survived but it ruined his health, and I have now been without him for a long time.
Sir Rudolph should be apprised that the relatives of these prisoners are undoubtedly grateful for what he did.
