l PAUL Routledge's report on the Staffordshire South-east by-election says the late Sir David Lightbown was returned with an increased majority at the last election ("The Tamworth manifesto...", 17 March). In fact, his majority was reduced from 10,885 in 1987 to 7,192 in 1992.
