Letter: A false picture of family values

Sir: Your choice of family to illustrate the article by Cardinal Hume on Christian family values was unfortunate to say the least. First, the family is Jewish: Margery and Eric Hurst. Second, the fair-headed child is Lillian, daughter of Mrs Hurst from her first marriage, that ended in divorce. The children always had a full-time nanny, and rarely saw Mr and Mrs Hurst as they were too busy building Brook Street Bureau into the first publicly quoted employment agency on the Stock Exchange.

Finally, the Hursts' marriage ended in divorce.
