Letter: Aids pandemic is all too real

WE WRITE from the board of directors of the CIDSE (Catholic development) Agencies to congratulate your paper on exploding the myth pedalled by the Sunday Times that the Aids pandemic does not exist.

We regard the Sunday Times campaign as unscientific and dangerous. We assure readers that Aids is a leading killer of the young and economically active of the Third World. If adequate resources are not put into preventing its spread, the results will be devastating.
