Letter: An age-old burden 'baby-boomers' should be prepared to carry

Sir: Having reached the Rubicon of 70 a few weeks ago, I support every word of Angela Lambert's caring article. Life is kind to me and I am in rude and robust good health; having worked for myself since 1980 I continue to do so, although on a less intensive scale.

The last thing I want is for my life to be prolonged, needlessly, when I become incapable of caring for myself. I can think of nothing worse than being a continuing burden to my nearest and dearest.

What is there that I can do to ensure that, when my time comes, I am allowed to go naturally, (hopefully) painlessly and, above all, with dignity?

Yours faithfully,

Attleborough, Norfolk
