Letter: Browned off

What on earth are we coming to when the Council for the Protection of Rural England is involved in a planning application for redevelopment in White City, London ("Chelsfield may sue over White City", Business, 5 December)? The nearest cow must be miles up the A40, and grass grows just on verges and in gardens and small parks. This is brownfield development in its strictest sense - something I thought we all wanted.
