LETTER : Dunblane massacre: no one should be allowed to keep guns at ho me

Sir: The appalling massacre at Dunblane Primary School was followed by predictable media analyses and interviews with spokespersons for the emergency and counselling services, and educational authorities. Obvious comments were made about the need to review security at schools; fleeting reference was made to the easy availability of arms.

But when will the media put pointed questions to arms manufacturers and importers whose respectable grey-suit existence never fails to produce the means whereby human life is being destroyed and maimed? It is the arms trade, rather than occasional deranged individuals, which is to be held responsible for the ever-increasing worldwide destruction of life. I wonder what the random arms dealer would have said in front of the TV camera, following Dunblane.
