Letter: English to the bone

Sir: Half a million years ago Box Grove Man was tall, comfortably off, perhaps a slightly different species from the rest of humanity ('Sussex site yields oldest human find in Britain', 18 May). It sounds as if the English have been recognisable for a long, long time.
