Sir: Your report (27 January) that Durham's green belt is confirmed is very likely over-optimistic, since Oxford, pace your report, has not had its surrounding countryside protected. The Oxford green belt has never been confirmed, having been opposed throughout by the City Council. I suspect Durham has a long way to go - as we have.
